≪ABOUT the Alpha Domus Winery≫ Alpha Domes is a winery based in Hawke's Bay on the North Island. It was founded in 1989 by the HAM family in this Hawke's Bay area. Alpha "ALPHA" is derived from the family name Anthonius, Leonarda, Paulus, Henrikus, Anthonius, and Domes "DOMUS" means "house" in Latin. As the name suggests, it is a warm winery like a family. There is an airport near the winery, which has long been an important training airfield for New Zealand Air Force pilots. The recent Alpha-Domes label design is inspired by the previously used military aircraft Tiger Moss.
